In Pre‑Engineered Buildings (PEB) manufacturing, drawings play a very important role because they guide the entire process of
design, fabrication, and erection of the structure.
The first type is the General Arrangement (GA) Drawing. This drawing shows the overall layout of the building including length, width, height,
column spacing, roof slope, and bay details. It provides a complete view of how the building will look and helps engineers understand the
structural arrangement before fabrication begins.
The second type is the Anchor Bolt Drawing. This drawing specifies the exact location, size, and arrangement of anchor bolts that connect
the steel columns to the concrete foundation. It is very important for civil contractors because foundation work must match the steel structure accurately.
Another important drawing is the Structural Framing Drawing. This drawing explains how different structural members such as columns, rafters, beams, and bracings
are connected. It also includes connection details like bolts, welds, and plates used in the structure.
The Part or Fabrication Drawings are also essential in PEB manufacturing. These drawings provide detailed information about individual components
such as plates, angles, channels, and built-up sections. Fabrication workers use these drawings to cut, drill, and assemble steel parts correctly
in the factory.
The Erection Drawings guide the site team during installation. They show step-by-step placement of columns, rafters, purlins, girts, bracing systems,
and roof structures. These drawings ensure that the structure is assembled safely and accurately at the construction site.
Another type is the Roof and Wall Sheeting Drawings, which indicate the arrangement of roof sheets, wall panels, fasteners, skylights, ridge caps,
and other accessories. These drawings help achieve proper weather protection and finishing of the building.
